We have partnered with Pampered Chef for our first virtual fundraising event. This came to be because throughout COVID, my darling daughter has cooked A LOT and she needs a chopper.....what better chopper out there but the Pampered Chef chopper! My hope is that we can raise some money to put toward our community! Pampered Chef will send us a check for 10% of sales up until 599.00 and then 15% for over 600.00.....let's do this!!! Hello ladies!

Happy Fall! I truly hope each and everyone one of you is getting back into the swing of things and the craziness is beginning to subside.

As you all know, things are different this year (understatement, am I right?). As a club there are things we are just not able to do, but there are things we are still able to do....let's focus on those for the time being! Our club is focused on giving back. And that is where we are going to place our efforts right now.....control what we can control! So, with that said, I wanted to let you know instead of chairing "events" this year, I am going to be looking for fun events we can do virtually, AND ways we can help those that need some extra love right now. Our first mission will be our troops in Afghanistan. Kevin Cook (Director of Veteran's Services in Milton/Randolph) is spearheading Operation CarePax. He has addresses for two units (60 males, 20 females) deployed at this time and we want to make sure they get our support . Care packages will be sent at the end of the next three months. He is looking for donations and I would love to see MJWC truly represent this worthy cause!!

Important details:
All donations need to be new, sealed items to keep our troops safe
Donations (cash) to help with the cost of postage are accepted (each package costs 19.60 to send)
Homemade cards & notes are highly encouraged and will definitely make someone's day!
Suggested items:
Snacks- pop tarts, slim jims, cookies, crackers, single serve cereal, ect (shelf stable)
Microwave meals- ready mac, Beef stew, ect
Drink Mix- Flavor pouches that can be used for water bottles
Hygiene- Body wash, Shampoo/Conditioner (smaller bottles are best), Deodorant , Baby Wipes, and other personal care items
Pens, Note Cards, Puzzle Books (new unused condition please)

Our club goal is to crush this assignment (if you choose to accept;)!!

DEADLINE is : November 22nd- plenty of time to gather great stuff for our troops!

Please:
Spread the word to your neighbors and friends! I know there are kids out there that need volunteer hours-send them door to door!!! I have attached a letter that your kids can use if desired.
Drop off at either 53 Cary Ave or 61 Houston Ave before 11/22
Read the attachment that Kevin sent me detailing a very personal experience while in Afghanistan!
